Where to Find Pop Atomic, Retro and Vintage Wallpaper for Your Home

Up until about 10 years ago, about the only place to find vintage and retro wallpaper was at thrift stores and yards sales. With any luck, someone’s Grandma might have saved a roll or two for patching, and those vintage wallpaper rolls would be up for sale when her house was sold.

Fortunately for today’s decorators and homeowners, luck no longer factors into finding genuine pop atomic, retro, and 1970s wallpaper. Wallpaper manufacturers are discovering that the retro look of the 40s, 50s, 60s, and 1970s are popular again and are offering wide line of wallpaper styles that are crisper, brighter, and look more retro that the original patterns.

Where to Find Pop Atomic, Retro and Vintage Wallpaper for Your Home

This niche market is still pretty limited, but we discovered four sites that do offer a wonderful selection of retro wallpaper. Check them out for yourself:

Bradbury and Bradbury

The California based Bradbury and Bradbury company are the original “old house” wallpaper experts and have been making reproduction art wallpapers since 1979. They’ve added a new line of retro, modern, and pop atomic wallpapers to their collection that span the decades from the 1940s to the 1960s.

Wallpaper from the 70s

Just like the name implies, Wallpaper From the 70s captures the look of those wild and groovy 70s prints that we remember from college. The prints are bold, psychedelic, and reminiscent of those free loving days when love beads, bell bottoms and long hair was chic. Wallpaper from the 70s is a Germany company.

Creative Wallcovering

Creative Wallcovering is based out of North Carolina, and while they carry a nice selection of all types of wallpaper, their inventory of reproduction geometric and atomic wallpapers from the 1960 era is impressive. Creative Wallpapers carry 290 retro style wallpapers, borders, and murals with designs that include boomerangs, abstract squares and circles, flocked, op art, and more.

Second Hand Rose

With a name like Second Hand Rose, most of us conjure up visions of shabby chic wallpapers for the parlour. Don’t let the name fool you however because this shop carries the Real Deal, actual vintage and retro wallpaper than span the decades from the 1860s to the 1970s.

The two lines of vintage papers that would fit in a retro themed home are the “mylars” and the “Geometrics”. These wallpapers are expensive but absolutely one of a kind and worth it. For a look at the wonderful selection Second Hand Rose currently has in stock
